Understanding TrustScore Components
TrustScore Components Explained
TrustScore evaluates several categories of publicly available information.
Digital Presence
This measures online visibility and consistency:
- Website existence and age - Social media profiles - Business directory listings - Consistency of information across sources
Identity Indicators
Information that can be cross-referenced:
- Business registration data - Contact information validity - Address verification - Domain ownership
Risk Signals
Patterns that may indicate elevated risk:
- Newly created accounts - Limited transaction history - Inconsistent information - Association with known problematic entities
How Components Combine
Each component contributes to the overall score. A weakness in one area may be offset by strength in others.
> Important Notice: Low scores in specific areas do not necessarily indicate fraud—they may simply reflect limited public information.
Limitations
TrustScore can only analyze available data. New businesses, private individuals, and those with minimal online presence may show lower scores despite being legitimate.
